A brilliant video artwork by Russian artists AES+F. There were nine screens in the room, with a different version of 'The Feast of Trimalchio' playing on each set of three. The music playing is Beethoven's Symphony #7, and the electronic music is an artist called Pavel Karmanov, I believe. Correct me if I am wrong. Basically, the video shows this strange bunch of passengers arriving on an island, and they engage in various sports and relaxation, etc. -- typical holiday activities. All the characters switch roles from hotel guest to servant throughout the video. It makes clever points about globalisation, but not in a didactic way. I saw this at the Sydney Biennale, and it was incredible. Unfortunately, this video does not truly convey how powerful this artwork is. You really have to be in that room and see all nine screens to get the best experience.
